September 16, 2012
We went out with a "BANG"
this season. Our attendance at the last race this year was 105.
Thanks to everyone for showing up and supporting the track. I am
sorry it has taken me a couple of weeks to get around to updating
the web site, but my Father passed away the day before the race and
I have been having a tough time motivating myself to get things
done for the track. I have had to deal with his funeral and several
other things. I wanted to make sure to clear up a rumor that was
floating around at the last race, the track IS NOT CLOSING! We
simply ended the season a little early due to low attendance (at
least until the last race). If you haven't checked out the Points
Standings yet, I have posted the "Overall Standings" (top of the
Points Page) and the "Championship Standings" (bottom of the same
page). Make sure to check it out, if you have any questions, make
sure you let Guy know.
The great thing about this
season is that we still have 35 - 2012 Champions, even with the low
rider turn-outs. That means we had at least 35 dedicated riders
that helped keep the track open for a partial season. We will be
back next year, ready for Season number 8 with another "Roostin on
the River" Series! We hope everyone will come out to support us and
enjoy another Great Year for Motocross at Fly MX Park. I just
completed the 8x10 Pictures for the awards ceremony, it took me
over 22 hours this past weekend to finish. Guy has a surprise for
Champions that he hasn't let me in on yet. Make sure you come out
October 14th for the "Rider Appreciation" Day, all of the 35
Champions will get to practice for free. Also, the Awards Ceremony
will be at 2pm that day. Even if you don't want to practice, come
out and support your favorite rider at the ceremony.
Back to the last race,
WOW, was it a Great Day! We had some Full Gate races that day. It
was such a good feeling to see that many people at the
track!
