Race Story 8

FATHER'S DAY
Finally, a good weather day for a
race, a little hot, but still a good day!! We had a great turnout
and a lot of new riders!! Several Father-Son and
Father-Daughter Racers/Riders participated in the "Father's
Day Lap of Honor". For the past two years we have had a special,
one lap ride of the track and we take pictures and post them on the
web site. Look for the new page of pictures in the next couple of
weeks.
Something you might find interesting
from this past race was that we had
THREE Loretta Lynn Qualifiers racing at the track. I wanted
to make sure and say
CONGRATULATIONS to the following riders for qualifying:
Jessica Good, Cole Smith, and Raeslee Weimer!! As I have
always said, you can find many great riders at Fly MX Park "ON ANY
SUNDAY". If you are looking for tough competition, come to Fly,
OH.
A new racing team hit the track for
the first time (at Fly MX Park) this weekend and they really
cleaned up!! I am talking about the Weimer's, Mike and his daughter
Raeslee. Mike came away with the win in the 40+ class and Raeslee
won both the Super-Mini and the Girls Open Classes. Congratulation
to both of you, I hope you enjoyed yourselves and will come back
again soon!!
Another Father-Son team I have to
mention is the Burton's: Jamie and Billie. If you haven't paid
attention to their classes lately, do yourself a favor and start. I
swear Jamie and Billie get faster every race. Jamie won the 50+
Class and came in SECOND in the Open B Class (against a bunch of
riders half his age) and Billie won the Open A and the College-Boy
Classes!!
It was good to see Cole Masten at the track today! He was
flying as usual, he won the 250B class today. Andrew Arnold has
extended his lead in the overall points standings in this class to
148 points compared to the next closest rider who is Jon Harker
with 39 points.
Nick Eltringham got the win in the 250C class today and Chase
Brown got second. Great Ride to both of you. Steven Glendenning
took a bad spill in the first moto over the finish line jump,
sustained an injury and I didn't figure we would see him back
on the track. Not only did he come back for the second moto, but he
raced three classes. He could barely walk at the end of the day,
but he still finished all three of his classes. Talk about
tough!
Jakob Hupp, Jim Roth and Jenna Harker won the 50cc (7-8) class, the
65cc class, and the Girls Mini-Junior class respectively. All three
looked really strong today!
Vince Boggs got the hole shot today in the D class, but Eric
Carpenter came away with the win! Vince still leads the D class
points standings and Eric has moved into second now. This
championship could go right down to the wire.
Don't forget, our next race weekend is a two race, 4th of July
Holiday. Come and spend the weekend, camping is free!
See ya at the races!!
