Race 7
June 6, 2010
The track looked really good this
morning, then the rain came...
WOW!!
When I got to the track in the
morning I was thinking the track would be
good by race time. But just as practice was
finishing, the rain started, and it was a downpour for what
seemed like an eternity! That wasn't the only problem, the
wind picked up and was blowing stuff
everywhere plus there was some heavy duty lightning. I
got in the car to wait it out. When it was over, everything was
soaked. Guy talked to the riders and all of the quad classes
decided to race just one moto. However, the bike riders wanted to
tough it out with two full length motos. That turned out to be a
mistake!
The racing today was pretty brutal, after the first bike motos,
almost everyone decided that a one or two lap second moto would
probably be enough! It was so muddy that it just sucked the life
right out of you. We still had a good turnout and most everyone
stuck with us for the day.
Bryan Huggins tried a new tactic today and it paid off in both of
the classes he rode in. He put a set of high profile rear tires on
his quad that looked like they were off a tractor. He ended up with
a first in the College Boy class and a second in the Quad Amateur.
Good plans do come together!
Gavin Shaver came away with a good win in the 250cc C class today!
Great ride Gavin! Also, Nick Eltringham ended up in second today,
it looks like his comeback is coming along nicely!!
Chase Brown seems to have the mud "dialed in" as does Steven
Glendenning, both rode hard today in the 250cc School-Boy class.
Chase got the win!!
Vince Boggs and Eric Carpenter gave it their all in the D class
today. Vince came away with the win and I thought Eric was going to
do himself in, between trying to ride in the mud and help his son
Ian, he looked beat!!
It looks like Tony Fiber got his first win in the Quad 50cc class
today. I think the parents and flagmen got more of a workout in
this class then the riders!!
Joel Hatfield was the winner in the Quad 80-110cc class today!
Great ride Joel!
I
have to mention this rider for her perseverance, Alyssa Elliot had
a heck of a time getting around the track today. I don't think she
made anymore then 20 feet at a time without hitting the ground! I
really felt bad for her, but SHE DIDN"T GIVE UP!! Way to go
Alyssa!! You really earned that first place trophy today!!
If you haven't checked lately, I have started a new race picture
page, make sure to check it out, but, it's not done yet. Don't
forget that the next race is Father's Day, we will be taking
Father/Son and Father/Daughter pictures just like last year. Make
sure to look for Jeanne (the photographer).
Remember, "We Eat, Sleep, Ride, Talk,
Breath, Dream, Live and Love Motocross!!" See ya at the next
race!!!
