I am really sorry this story has
taken so long. I started a new job the next day after the race and
I have been very busy trying to get everything at work (paperwork)
completed. Also, I had to go out of town this past weekend, so I
haven't had much time. Anyway, I hope everyone had a good time and
can forgive me for being so late with this story.
Boy did you see
Nicole Hays ride this past race. She definitely found a new gear!
She was really flying! I understand Guy worked with her some and it
made a huge difference!!
Chance
Postlewaite and his Dad, Mike raced at the track this weekend.
Unfortunately, things didn't go well for them. It turned out that
their classes were combined into one moto. When Chance
attempted the triple in the five-pack, he didn't make it and went
over the bars. In addition to that, Mike, his Dad came along and
either hit him or his bike, I couldn't tell from my vantage point.
I thought one or both of them were going to get a ride from
our friendly E-car driver. As it turned out they both walked
away.
Ricky Crosby was
really flying in the Quad Junior class today, not only did he win
but he had a 3/4 lap lead by the end.
We had our very
own version of the "Family Feud" at the track today, the only thing
missing was Richard Dawson. It was the the Longwell's and the
Burton's playing for all of the marbles (or at least the
trophies and the money). We combined the 50+ and the Open A
classes and Guy Longwell and Jamie Burton ride in the 50+
class and their sons; Cody and Billy ride in the Open A class. It
was a very entertaining race to watch.
Once again Steve
Glendenning is burning up the track, he won the 125cc and 250cc
School-Boy Classes and took third in the 250cc C class. Gavin
Shaver is in line for a Championship trophy in the 250cc C class if
he keeps going, he won that class today! Chase Brown came in second
in the 250cc class, he seems to be catching a new gear out on the
track, I see some new found speed!
Austin Legg
looked good in the 65cc class today, he got a pretty convincing
win!! Jim Roth came in second and Jacob Visnic looks like he is
starting to get used to his new 65cc bike, he is kind of between
classes and it is a big move to go from a 50cc to a 65cc bike.
Ian Carpenter is also looking good on his 65cc bike. We have a
good crop of riders coming up in this class!!
Wiatt Blake hit
the winners circle again today in the Quad Amateur class, Great
Ride! That puts him in second overall in the standings! Michael
Bragg is our current class leader, but the points race is tight
after five races, only 8 points separates the top three riders. The
two race weekend on Memorial Day could give someone an extra boost
into a decisive lead. We will have to see how things unfold.
Travis Brown was
at the track today and as usual he was putting in some blazingly
fast laps. He is without a doubt the fastest quad rider to ever
circle Fly MX Park!!
It looks like
Brandon Smitley and Joel Hatfield are going to be "duking it out"
for the Quad 80-110cc class Championship this season. Right now
Joel is in the lead and Brandon is giving him a run for the
money.
It looks like we
have a GREAT Saturday/Sunday on the way for the Memorial
Day 2-Race weekend! I hope everyone is "Ready to Race" (to borrow a
line from KTM). Don't forget: We eat, sleep, ride, talk, breath,
dream, live and love MOTOCROSS!!! See ya "AT THE
RACES"!!!
