Race 3

Another Rainy
day at Fly MX Park and another greasy track. I can't believe all of
the rain this year! What a bad weather day! It rained so much and
the track was so slick we ended up only having one moto for
everyone. There were several brave souls that raced today.
Our infield at
the track (the area around the announcer tower and starting line
had been flooded for six weeks.
There were many
new riders that came to Fly MX Park, I wish you could see the track
when it is at it's best. I am sure that the weather will break soon
and we will get back to the excellent prepared track we are all
used to enjoying.
There were
several new riders in the 65cc Class today, Jaedon Walraven put in
an excellent ride to take first not only in the 65cc Class, but
also won the Mini-Junior as well. Ian Carpenter looked like he
wasn't bothered by the mud at all today and came in second in the
Mini-Junior Class.
The Weaver
brothers picked up right where they left off last year, Aerion won
the 250B Class and took third in the Open B Class. Destin Weaver
got the win in the Super-Mini Class. It looks like we have the
making of another good mud rider.
While I am
talking about the Open B Class, I can't forget to mention our
winner for the day and our current points leader; Braden Skinner.
He put in an excellent ride in some really bad conditions.
Nick Giovenelli
was back today and made quick work of the Open C Class. He came
away with a solid win today.
It looks like
the Blake and Bragg Battle will continue in the Quad Am Class.
Wiatt got the win today, but I am betting there will other winners
before the season is over. This is a very entertaining class to
watch.
I am sorry this
story is late, I will try to keep up as the season
progresses.
Race 4
Story

This race
started off much better, then the last. Two days before the race,
the track was dry, but in rained Saturday night. However, the track
was in good condition. It was a little slick at the beginning, but
by the second moto, it was excellent. We got the "lake"
drained at the track. For those of you that don't know what I mean,
the infield had been flooded for several weeks and it was causing
us problems with access to the sign up tent , the announcers tower,
the staging area, and the starting line. Guy had a very big
drainage ditch dug and that problem is behind us now. If you are
not aware, we have had record Ohio River Levels now for most of the
new year, I hope the rain ends soon.
If you haven't
been to the track this season, you haven't seen our new announcer's
tower that is currently under construction. It is really nice, it
is higher, longer, wider and it is enclosed. The audio equipment
has much better protection from the weather (so does the announcer,
I am warmer and dryer on the bad days). Also, we are going to begin
a new sign up building underneath the tower, it will also be much
nicer.
We are asking
everyone to not park in the infield area around the tower just yet,
it will probably be fairly soupy for some time to come. We will try
to get it straightened up as soon as possible. Also, please be
patient with us while our tower/sign up building
construction is underway. It will be a little messy for
awhile.
Those that
showed up today had a much better track today, we were able to
complete 2 motos of full amount of laps for everyone.
Michael Dierkes
and Hobie Howiler traded wins today in the Mini-Senior and
Super-Mini Classes. Michael won the Mini-Senior and Hobie won the
Super-Mini Class, they both took second in the other class. It was
good to see the Dierkes back at the track today, we missed them
last year. Also it was good to see Dolan Cramblett was also back
after almost a years absense. Both he and Michael looked as if they
didn't miss a beat, Dolan won the 125cc Class today.
Travis Blake got
the win today in the Quad Am Class, he appears to be picking up
where he let off last year. In fact, he looks even faster then last
year.
Tate Elliot has
moved to the Race Bike Class this year and has really stepped up
his pace. I smell a Championship coming in the 4-6 age group for
Tate if he keeps this level of effort.
Steven Glendenning was flying today, he appears to on track to
win the Open C Class unless someone can step up and challenge him.
I see some takers in the crowd, they just need to become a little
more consistent.
Ricky Crosby got the win today in the Quad Junior Class, but
it looks like this could be a very competitive class this season. I
have a feeling that the win will be up for grabs at each
race.
Brain Butler appears to be shooting for a Quad Vet Season
Championship. It is good to see another Hannibal Resident at the
track!!
Ian Carpenter is really flying on his new Mini-Junior Class
bike, he got the win today. He is improving his speed each race.
Keep up the good effort.
We will se you at the next race weekend!!
