Race 1, 2012

November 6, 2011

WOW, What a Great Finish to 2011 at Fly MX Park! The weather was Perfect, the Track Excellent and a Very Good Attendance!! Who could for anything more?! A lot of our regulars were at our 1st Race of the 2012 Season (some in New Classes) and there were several riders we haven't seen for awhile. All in all, It Was a GREAT DAY FOR MOTOCROSS at Fly MX Park!!

 I was thinking a bit about the beginning of the season and how so many of the new riders at the track struggled to even get around the track. Now, 6 or 7 months later, most of the struggling riders have got "Their Wheels". I not only see speed that wasn't there in the early part of the season, but attitude and style. If you watch the likes of Easton Little, Cody Taggart, Maya Taggart, Tate Elliot. and Wyatt Abele; all of these riders have vastly improved! I can't wait for the start of the new year! It should be very entertaining!

Tate Elliot is starting the new season out right with a win in the 50cc (4-6) Race Bike Class. Also, Jacob Visnic cleaned up in the 65cc Class. I can see additional Championships coming up for both of these Gentlemen!

It was good to see Ben Cunningham and his Dad Kevin at the track today. Ben got second in the second in the Mini-Senior and fourth in the Super-Mini Classes today. Jim Roth took the win today in the Super-Mini. Talk about another young rider that really been piling on the speed, it's Jim Roth!!

It was good to see the Greens back at the track. When they last raced at Fly MX a couple of years ago, Brandon was the fast brother. Now, they have been back to a couple of races and Andrew seems to have moved into another realm of speed. He is flying in the B Class. I have never seen him ride so good!

Colton Raber of the "Racing Raber's" got the win today in the 250cc B Class. Nice ride Colton. I look forward to Ron and Colton hitting the Track again next year!

It was definitely good to see Nick Eltringham back at the track today. Hopefully he can stay off the injured list for 2012. The track just isn't the same without an Eltringham on it. I really miss seeing Mike and Ray duking it out in the D Class. Nick got a good win in the Open C Class, not a bad way to start a new season. Jim Roth took second in his debut in the Open C Class. Quite a jump from Mini-Senior to the Open class. Not a bad start for Jim!

The Burton Race Team just increased in in size by one. Jamie's brother Jeff raced today in the Open C Class. Great to have you at the track, hope you will make it a regular stop on the circuit next year. Jamie took a pretty bad spill today, in fact he had to take a trip to the hospital and actually got First Class accommodations for a couple of days. From what I understand, he is recuperating well and should be ready for his new racing contract to race the outdoors circuit in 2012. We missed you and Billy on the new "Hometown Honda" Podium at the awards ceremony. Hopefully, next year.

Mr. Billy Goske, this is your call to come away with a Championship Trophy in the D Class next year. You have a good start with one win under your belt already. I see a rigid training regimen through the winter, followed by lots of practice on the track in the spring! If you follow this prescription, you will be ready to claim your title in 2012!!

Welcome back to all of the other riders we haven't seen in awhile, The McCorts, Issac Gribble, Braydon Roberts, Jordan Boggs, Dylan Anderson, Shawn Woody, Adam Campbell, and Tres Campbell. I hope to see all of you next year. It should be a good year.

If you haven't checked it out yet, make sure you stop by and visit our new Rider Registration/Scoring Building/Championship Podium/Announcer's Tower/Club House sponsored by "HOMETOWN HONDA". I think it is pretty nice, even if I do say so myself. It is just another way to serve you better at Fly MX Park!

As an offer for those of you that missed the awards ceremony, if you would like to join the ranks of the folks that have their picture on the 2011 Championship page of the Web Site, bring your Championship plaque with you to one of the first races next year. Jeanne can get your picture in front of our new building and I will post it on the Web Site for you. We currently have six people missing from the Honor Board. It just doesn't seem right.

Well, that it is about it for this season. I have two more picture pages coming, the Pro Race and Race Pics 4, stay tuned! The 2011 Championship page is complete and the new 2012 schedule should be along soon. If you want to see your favorite rider mentioned in the race story. make sure you let me know, I'll be happy to add something. Until next year;

MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
