Race 1
October 17, 2010

Well it was a good start to the NEW season! That seems odd to say in October, but there it is! We had another beautiful day for a race. Several people moved to their new classes they will race for next year and got a jump start on the points standings.

We have some new early leaders in the 50cc classes. Easton Little is leading the (4-6) Trail Bike class and Cody Taggert is leading the (4-6) Race Bike class.

Hunter Lavy is our early leader in the 65cc and the Mini-Junior classes. I can see a good battle shaping up between him and Ian Carpenter next year.

Looks like Calvin Valentine is off to a good start at a new title in the Mini-Senior Class! He won a convincing First Place in his first race in his new class today!

I think one of most interesting things that occurred today was Aerion Weaver moving up to the 250 and Open B class and he made an excellent showing for himself. He took second place in both classes. I see an extremely tight battle for him and Dustin Lamp in the Open B Class this coming year. He appears very competitive in that class. Also, if Craig Hewetson makes a season of it, I can see good battles in the 250 B class with him and Aerion! I don't mean to short change Ryan Buchanan (because he did win today), but he doesn't normally ride a full season at Fly MX Park.

Once again, Steven Glendenning looked great in the 250cc C Class and James Hewetson was really flying today. James needs to get a little more confidence in his abilities! He is a very talented rider, he just doesn't know it yet! When James learns the meaning of "Eye of the Tiger", Steven will have his hands full!

Another rider that really surprised me today was Nick Eltringham. I had to do a double take, he appears to be really kicking it into gear, I don't think I have ever seen him make the track look so short!

Another couple of riders I don't mention very much, but appeared to be stepping it up for the new season is Colton Raber and Chase Brown. They both impressed me in their respective classes today!

It was a big Quad Day today. We had several riders get a Great start to Championships in their classes today. It would be excellent to see all of the leaders finish the season. We would have some new blood for our old Champs to ride with for next season! I don't say this often enough, but I really enjoy watching Travis Brown ride, he is an extremely confident and talented rider!

I finally finished the "Pro Race Picture Page" make sure you check it out!! I am going to work on the Championship Page next, hopefully by this weekend. I also have enough picture to make another picture page from 2010. Make sure to keep watching over the next several weeks. Well, I guess that is about it for this year! I am already having withdrawal symptoms from no Motocross races!

Remember: WE EAT, SLEEP, RIDE, TALK, BREATH, DREAM, LIVE, and LOVE MOTOCROSS !!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM THE STAFF OF FLY MX PARK !!
